Vacation Bible School

TRAINING: A brief training session will be held on Wednesday, July 6th. It will be a drop in training. Come to the church any time between 4-7 p.m. You will receive your VBS assignment, go through your packet, and design a shirt to wear during VBS. It should take about 15-20 minutes. Melissa Alexander and Steph Shinrock will be there to assist. If you cannot make it, please arrange a time with Melissa to pick up your packet and shirt.

Creative or like to decorate? We will be setting up and decorating for VBS on July 6th and July 7th around 4-7 p.m. Stop in as you are able. God is wild about you!!!!

It’s going to be “Panda Mania” at Ascension Lutheran Church in July as VBS explores how God is wild about us. We will need a lot of help in order to pull this off. Last year, we touched the lives of 60 children (age 3 through 5th grade). We are hoping for about 75 children this year between a daytime session and a nighttime session. Please mark these dates on your calendar and begin considering where you can plug in.

Daytime VBS: Monday, July 11th-Thursday, July 14th : 9:00 – 11:30 a.m.

Nighttime VBS: Sunday, July 10th – Wednesday, July 13th : 6:00– 8:30 p.m.

Family Night: Thursday, July 14th at 6:30 p.m.

We will be in need of a minimum of 12 volunteers during the daytime and a minimum of 8 volunteers are night to make this happen. Last year we were blessed to have the Lancaster family who provided 6 people to the volunteer force both at day and night.

There are other ways to help too. Many donations will be needed for snack and craft activities as well as treats for the volunteer forces and family night baked goods.

Registration forms and volunteer forms will be available on Easter Sunday where you can indicate your willingness to help. There will also be an information session/training for volunteers during the month of June. In early June watch for the bulletin board of opportunities to donate supplies.
